A Day In The Life Of A Digital Media Mom

As a mompreneur, I spend a decent amount of time on social media. One of the first things I do upon waking is check my business numbers. I am part of an amazing company dedicated to health and wellness. Young Living Essential Oils is one of the fast growing wellness Network Marketing companies in the industry. I frequent Young Livings site on average 10 times a day. From price checking, to product questions, following up with leads, running spreadsheets, reading the companies blog, watching training videos, and more. The website offers endless information, and updates in real time.

Once I have finished with my daily back up work, I check my Facebook messages and alerts. Based on Digital in Americas 67% of the population is on social media for some form. For me Facebook is my best lead generation platform. My interactions of Facebook enable me to get paid for attracting people to my network, through my presence on this site.  I am also able to attempt to spread happiness, I try to be a light in the world, as cliché as that may sound. The world is full of such trying times, forced opinions, judgement, and simply put negativity. I attempt to be positive, uplifting, yet authentic. I also use my time on Facebook to connect with new people. This isn’t as difficult as one would think with the amount of events shared on the site, Facebook groups, professional pages, and the constant new friend suggestions.

I use social media pages to spread the awareness of our own personal choices. I find most people have negative experiences with Facebook and therefore gravitate toward sites like Instagram. Instagram seems to be a little lighter, with simple images shared, that if appealing can then be clicked on for more information. Whereas Facebook is a site full of opinions, and ideas.  The focus is status updates, written words, and opportunity to vent, or encourage. I personally use this site to share snippets of my day, business journey, family, etc. Instagram gives people a more personal view into my life and lifestyle. For instance today I shared a fun photo of me and my children at family yoga- again emphasis placed on our holistic lifestyle

Because I send more time than I would prefer on digital media I try to be conscious and limit what I focus on, therefore I only subscribe to and completely avoid any emails that are not directly linked to or beneficial to my personal development and business growth. In the rare chance I receive emails from companies or persons I am not familiar with I simply delete. This practice has benefited not only my time management skills greatly, but also my budget, giving my family more financial freedom. What I notice more about the digital media market today is nearly every platform as the ability to make a purchase within the site. This is a definite benefit for business owners.
